HAWKINS Lenoir - Mabel Frances Hawkins, 68, of Fairview Drive, died Dec. 27, 2001 at Caldwell Memorial Hospital. Born April 26, 1933, in Caldwell County, she was a daughter of the late Andy and Dorothy Price Laws. A member of Nazareth Advent Christian Church, she retired as a machine operator with Drexel Furniture Industries. She was preceded in death by her husband, Laben Hawkins; two sons, Richard Hawkins and Bradley Hawkins; three brothers, Coye Laws, Dan Laws and Fred Laws; and two sisters, Toye Branch and Hazel Barker. Survivors include a son, Robert Hawkins of Lenoir; two daughters and a son-in-law, Gail Hawkins and Audrey and Gary Glenn of Lenoir; two brothers, Jess Laws and Joe Laws of Lenoir; a sister, Mary Byrd of Lenoir; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild. A graveside service will be conducted by the Rev. Rodney Raby at 2 p.m. Saturday at her church. Memorials may be made to Caldwell County Hospice, 902 Kirkwood St., Lenoir, N.C. 28645.
