Beth, and Laws Listers, Do you have any information about the Laws family while they were in Shelby County, Ohio? I have a Great grandfather, Charles Howard Laws, b. 17 Jan 1844 in Illinois d. 10 April 1823 in the Oak Hill/Masonic Cemetery in McAlester, Pittsburgh, OK, served in Co. H 54 Ill Vol. Inf., (Veteran of Civil War), son of Buckner Laws, b. ? of WVA and Ester/Hester Ann Underwood, b. ? in Ohio). Charles may have had a brother named Holland S. Laws. Holland's widow, Rebecca, was also living at the widow, Nancy E. Igo Law's residence in McAlester, OK according to the Pittsburgh County Census of April, 1910. Charles married (date and place unk. - probably in Circleville, Shelby, OH) Nancy E. Igo, b. 31 Mar 1855 in Ohio, d. 1 July 1932 in Houston, Harris, TX, bur. 2 July 1932 in Oak Hill/Masonic Cemetery in McAlester, Pittsburgh, OK, dau of John Igo and Ellen Hall, both of Ohio. Their daughter, my Grandmother, Teresa/Theresa Myrtle Laws Crouse, was 19 years old and living in her mother's home in McAlester, OK during the Pittsburgh County April 1910 Census, just a few months before my father, Leon Clifford Crouse was born on 10 Sept 1910 in Sedgewick, Sedgewick, KS. He and a sister, Evelyn, were put into a foundling home and later adopted by separate families. Years later, they located Teresa in California, but I am not sure where she was living at the time. I saw her in Sacramento, CA when I was a little girl but I didn't know that she was my grandmother until many years later and by then the sands of time had begun to cover up any trail she may have left behind. She may have remarried, perhaps several times. She has been very elusive as has been my Grandfather, Allen Ambrose Crouse (date and place of birth unk. - believe he died in Lone Pine, Inyo, CA in late 1930's according to story from my deceased Aunt, but I have not been able to prove.) Would appreciate any information that might help to put some of these pieces of the puzzle together. Thanks in advance, Anne Mego ----- Original Message ----- From: <BLias@aol.com> To: <LAWS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, December 18, 2001 10:25 AM Subject: [LAWS-L] William Laws, Whitley Co.
