Mr. Laws was a retired farmer from Coffey County and later worked for the Emporia Coffee Company and Kansas Turnpike. He moved to Emporia in 1946. Funeral services will be held at the Blair Colonial Mortuary with Gordon Arb of Jehovah's Witnesses officiating. Burial will be in the Hartford Cemetery. Walter Laws was born Aug. 4, 1902, in Melvern, the son of Vincent and Mary Young Laws. He married Lucy Isabella Dalrymple on Aug 4, , 1927, in Walters, Okla. and she survives. Other survivors include two brothers, Howard Laws of Williamsburg; George Laws of Williamsburg, four sisters, Alice McMurphey, 1107 Merchant St., Helen Laws, 628 Constitution St., Edna Craig, Osage City, and Margaret Garrison of Tulsa, Okla., and a number nieces and nephews. Mr. Laws was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John Laws, and two sisters, Ida Laws and Bertha Laws. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8:30 o'clock at the Blair Mortuary.
