Good Morning, It is great to find someone who knows about my line. I have been working on it on and off for awhile. But having to do it long distance has been more difficult. Charles Laws is my gggrandfather. Edward Laws b. 10-3-1894 in Yancey County, NC d. 11-19-1961 in the VA Hopsital in Columbia, SC. His wife was Lillie Mae Marsh b. 5-10-1898 in Captola, Ga and d. 9-29-1969 in Greenville County, SC. They had 7 children several are still alive. William Clayton is my ggrandfather he and Maury had 11 children that I know about most of them are still living. George Laws b. 1887 d. 1966 in Greenville County, SC m. Ella she was b. 1890 and died 1955 in Greenville County, SC. There are 4 children that I know of and they all are still living. Dollie Laws m. Frank Buchanan. Nancy Renfro Ogle remarried after Charles Laws died. She married Sam Hughes. I don't know if Renfro was her middle family name that had been passed down or if she had been married previously to an Ogle. No one in the family has been able to tell me. Do you know who Joseph Laws family was and who his parents were? How does your Charles parents fit into the family? I tend to believe that they are all connected somehow. We think they were from Wales part of England and they were coal miners and moved to the mountainous area of USA to mine coal. But that is just hearsay. Would really like to exchange information. Hi Barbara, This is not the line I am researching, but I gather all Yancey County Laws info in hopes of finding a connection to my mother-in-law's line. Maybe someone else will jump in and help you fill in some blanks on this family. I believe we have several people on the list who connect to the Meschack Laws line.
