James died in 1945 at the age of 78 years, 1 month, and 16 days. OBITUARY: THE DAILY REPUBLICAN, BURLINGTON, COFFEY CO., KS. Sept. 10, 1945 (Page 1) JAMES LAWS DIES FRIDAY MORNING James R. Laws, resident of the Concord neighborhood for more than 40 years, died at his home at 3 o'clock Friday afternoon, September 7, 1945. He had not been well for a long time. He is survived by his wife and eight living children: Mrs. Harold Paxson of Burlington; Mrs. Ray McCullough of Madison; Homer and Silas Laws of Hartford; Kine Laws of the home; Charles Laws of Lebo; and Curtis Laws of Burbank, Calif.; and Mrs. Eva Peters of Los Angeles, Calif. Funeral Services will be held at Hartford at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon and Rev. Mr. Needam of Iola will be in charge, Interment will be in the Hartford cemetery.
