Hi to All! Since I see so many newcomers I'd like to repost my info. This will be long so delete now if you don't have southern Laws. Below is what I know for sure on the first 2 generations of my line in MS. My direct line is through Ida & George DeLapp, on the latter census records Ida gives MS as her parents birthplace, however on the 1860/70 census she & her siblings were not living w/ their parents. I might also add it's not written in stone that Anna's surname was indeed Taylor. There were 2 other Laws families in the county in the 1870 census, can't connect them. That info is also below . It seems that there were a ton of Laws in TN, does anyone know of anyone leaving c1830-1840 & losing track of them? I'm esp. interested in Benjamin & Elbert LAWS found in the Carter Co., TN census index. Ida Laws had a grandson by the name Elbert , he's my grandfather.
