My name is Charles Henderson and I live in Florence, SC, about an hour and a half from the beach, and I like that. I am researching mine and my wifes family and I have all of It complete for at least four generations. After that some lines get pretty thin. I have been researching for about twenty years, but not so actively for the last six or seven. That odd too because that is how long I have been retired. I guess I must not be really retired. The families I have gotten stuck on are the father and mother of Benjamin Henderson-husband of Phoebe McCurry. They lived in Henderson Co. NC and Benjamin was born in Va. Benjamin had a son, my ggrandfather who's wife was Adeline Patton. I have had trouble proving her parents although I have two good prospects. On my Mom's side, all the family came from Cleveland Co. NC, but before that from Rutherford, McDowel, and adjacent Co.'s. I would like to locate the parents of my gggrandad, Abel H Roberts who lived in Rutherfordton married Harriette Hyder. As of yet I have not located Harriette's parents either. Since I got on line I have found so many resources and so much help it has inspired me to spend more time than I should at the computer but it has been well worth the effort. I want to thank you guys for just being available and for letting me join your group. I have about 2500 persons in my data base plus another 3000 Ropers in a file I imported recently. If I can be of help to anyone please don't hesitate to ask. Sometimes it may be a couple of days before I will be able to answer. I go out of town quite frequently. The families in my data base are : Henderson, Davis, Roper, Patton, McCurry, Ledford, Roberts, Falls, Shirlen, Huffstetler, Hyder, Goforth, Hullender, Carpenter, Palmer, Hoffman, Skipwith, Rabon, Barfield, Branham, Kelly, Dowey, Peake, Bass, Henry. Most of it is contained in North and South Carolina.
