Hamilton Journal News Hamilton, OH May 21, 2001 Lillie Esther Laws Lillie Esther Laws, age 91, of Hamilton, passed away in her residence Saturday May 19, 2001, at 1:04 p.m. She was born in Berea, Kentucky on april 16, 1910, the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Sizemore) Hensley. Lillie was a member of the Happy Corners Pentecostal Church, the Eagles Lodge #407, and was a Kentucky Colonel. She was employed as a press operator for Estate Stove Company for 10 years and then was a clerk in various grocery stores in Hamilton for 15 years, retiring in 1965. On August 23, 1925, in Covington, Kentucky, she was married to Obal Combs and he preceded her I death; on June 16, 1953, in Liberty, Indiana. She was also married to Owen Laws and he preceded her in death. A beloved Mother, she is survived by three sons, Kenneth and his wife Evelyn Combs of Newport News, Virginia, Raymond and his wife Anita Combs of Hamilton, Frank and his wife Kim Combs of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; three daughters, Georgia Whitis of Cape Coral, Florida, Alice and her husband Vern, a devoted son-in-law, Hartmann of West Chester, and Shirley Simpson of Hamilton; three devoted granddaughters, Kathy (Phil) Oglesby, of Hamilton, Debbie (Gary) Benson of Fairfield, and Esther (David) Lehman of Las Vegas, Nevada; and nineteen other grandchildren; a devoted great granddaughter, Hope (Scott) Seimer of Zainsville, Ohio; sixty other great grandchildren and many many great great grandchildren; and also a very devoted friend, Dorothy Moon of Hamilton. She was preceded in death by her parents; by one son, Marvin Combs; by one daughter, Peggy Combs; three brothers, Bernal, Oliver, Okla Hensley; by four sisters, Hallie Hensley, Ola Withers, Mae Gibson, and Ethel Hensley; by ! five grandchildren, Gail Groomes, Ricky Brewer, Clayton Adams, Tammy McClellan, Raymond Combs, Jr. and one great-grandson, Ryan Woolum. Funeral service will be held at the Brown Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Paul Hensley, Pastor of the First Church of God, of Norwood, officiating. Entombment will be in Greenwood Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Eagles Lodge #407 will hold services at the funeral home Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thank you to the staff of Hospice of Cincinnati, Dr. Arthur Richards and Dr. Craig Losekamp for their loving care and compassion.
