(Laws) Bangert June 19, 1911- Feb. 16, 2000 Stayton- Martha Bangert, 88, died Feb. 16. She was born in Rogue River and married "Brownie" in 1929. In 1953 they moved from Salem to La Grande, where she was a secretary for a cable television company. She retired in 1980 after 25 years. Her husband died in 1968. She was a member of Amaranth, Eastern Star and Eagels Auxiliary in Salem. A son, daughter and brother preceded her in death. Survivors include her sisters, Mary Johnson of Salem and Freda Thornton of Madera, Calif,; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild. Services were at Daniels Chapel of the Valley in La Grande. Private interment was in Grandview Cemetery, La Grande. Contributions: Doernbecher Children's Hospital in Portland.
