Law Donald Dean Law, 67, of 2301 Delane Drive died March 10, 2001, at St. Luke's on the Plaza in Kansas City, Mo. Mr. Law was a banker at Emporia State Bank and Trust Co. for 33 years before he retired in 1995. Earlier, he was a banker at Citizens National Bank. He also taught for two years at William Allen White Elementary School and one year at Claflin. He was an Army veteran. Donald Dean Law, the son of Charles and Emma Yackle Law, was born Dec. 23, 1933, at Hillsdale. He graduated from Kansas State Teachers College with a teaching certificate; from Southern Technical Institute at Chamblee, Ga., with an associate's degree in science; from the University of Wisconsin School of Banking and the University of Oklahoma School of Banking. He married Mary Ann Keating on May 2, 1956, at Emporia. Mr. Law was a member of the First Christian Church. He served two terms on the Emporia school board. He is survived by his wife; four sons, Douglas Law of Augusta, Michael Law of Olathe, Bradley Law of Lenexa and Brian Law of Lawrence; two brothers, Wilbur Law of Emporia and Loren Law of Bentonville, Ark.; two sisters, Virginia Gordon of Americus and Wanda Williamson of Alamo, Texas; and two granddaughters. His parents died earlier. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the First Christian Church. The Rev. Steve Goad of the church will conduct the service. Burial, with services conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Lowry-Funston Post 1980 and American Legion Ball-McColm Post 5, will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home. The family asks that instead of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Donald Law Scholarship Fund in the Education Department at ESU or the Lyon County Humane Society and sent in care of the funeral home.
