Laws, 72, of Westwood Drive, Granite Falls, died March 7, 2001, at Caldwell County Hospice. Born Feb. 13, 1929, in Caldwell County, he was a son of the late William W. and Annie Holden Laws. A Baptist, he retired from Singer Furniture Industries. He was preceded in death by a brother, Herman Laws. Survivors include a daughter, Cyndee L. Raby of Granite Falls; a sister, Deannie Crowe of Hudson; a granddaughter; and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family will be at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday. Memorials may be made to Caldwell County Hospice, 902 Kirkwood St., Lenoir, N.C. 28645.
