She was born Jan. 24, 1959, in Guilford County, a daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Blackwell Feltner. She lived most of her life in this area. She was a homemaker and of the Methodist faith. On May 1, 1993, she was married to Michael Bucher, who survives of the residence. Also surviving are her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Arrowood of Crouse; two sons, Michael Laws of Thomasville and Matthew Laws of the residence; a sister, Pam Southards of High Point; two brothers, Phillip Feltner of High Point and Steve Feltner; a granddaughter, Alivia Laws; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jim and Margie Bucher of Denton; and her maternal grandfather, Marvin Foster of High Point. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at J.C. Green & Sons Chapel by the Rev. Charles Moses. Burial will be in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and other times at the residence of Jim and Margie Bucher, 608 Farmer Road, Denton.

Law Donald Dean Law, 67, of 2301 Delane Drive died March 10, 2001, at St. Luke's on the Plaza in Kansas City, Mo. Mr. Law was a banker at Emporia State Bank and Trust Co. for 33 years before he retired in 1995. Earlier, he was a banker at Citizens National Bank. He also taught for two years at William Allen White Elementary School and one year at Claflin. He was an Army veteran. Donald Dean Law, the son of Charles and Emma Yackle Law, was born Dec. 23, 1933, at Hillsdale. He graduated from Kansas State Teachers College with a teaching certificate; from Southern Technical Institute at Chamblee, Ga., with an associate's degree in science; from the University of Wisconsin School of Banking and the University of Oklahoma School of Banking. He married Mary Ann Keating on May 2, 1956, at Emporia. Mr. Law was a member of the First Christian Church. He served two terms on the Emporia school board. He is survived by his wife; four sons, Douglas Law of Augusta, Michael Law of Olathe, Bradley Law of Lenexa and Brian Law of Lawrence; two brothers, Wilbur Law of Emporia and Loren Law of Bentonville, Ark.; two sisters, Virginia Gordon of Americus and Wanda Williamson of Alamo, Texas; and two granddaughters. His parents died earlier. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the First Christian Church. The Rev. Steve Goad of the church will conduct the service. Burial, with services conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Lowry-Funston Post 1980 and American Legion Ball-McColm Post 5, will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home. The family asks that instead of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Donald Law Scholarship Fund in the Education Department at ESU or the Lyon County Humane Society and sent in care of the funeral home.

Born Aug. 25, 1916 in Beverly, Mass., she was the daughter of the late William W. and Margaret Gallagher Laws. She was the wife of the late Gaylord Perry "Tex" Aschenbeck, whom she married Sept. 20, 1946 in Brownfield, Texas. He preceded her in death March 24, 1997. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, William and John Laws. She is survived by one nephew, Robert Laws of Wenham, Mass. Mrs. Aschenbeck moved to St. Mary's County in 1946. She was an assistant postmaster at the Park Hall Post Office along with Mr. Aschenbeck. Mr. and Mrs. Aschenbeck bred and raised Schnauzers; they were considered experts of that particular type of dog and participated in many dog shows. Family and friends will be received today, Wednesday, Feb. 7 from 10 to 11 A.M. at the Brinsfield Funeral Home in Leonardtown, where services will be held at 11 A.M. A native of Moore County, she was the daughter of the late Rufus L. and Nora Ward Laws. She and her brother, Homer L. Laws, were reared by their stepmother, Annie Williams Laws, their parents having died at an early age. She was preceded in death in 1973 by her husband, Aldon Tipps. She began her teaching career while attending Murfreesboro Normal School for Teachers (now Middle Tennessee State University), receiving her B.S. degree in 1937. During her 43-year career, she taught at Marble Hill, Flintville, Mulberry and Moore County High School. She joined the MCHS faculty after earning her master's degree in home economics from Peabody College. She was a member of Alpha Beta chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, an honorary teacher's fraternity. An active member of the Lynchburg United Methodist Church, she had served as coordinator of the church Bible school, secretary of the church conference, church school superintendent and chaired the Educational Commission, as well as teaching various classes. She served as mayor of the Town of Lynchburg, was chairperson of the tuberculosis Christmas Seal campaign for 35 years, and chair of the memorial fund for the American Cancer Society. "She claimed all the students she taught as her children and was always promoting the town of Lynchburg, said her nephew, Bev Laws of Houston, Texas. "She has left the world a better place for her having passed this way. Community service was an important part of her life." Services were held last Friday at the First United Methodist Church in Lynchburg with Rev. Joe Elliott and Rev. Allen Black officiating. Burial was in Lynchburg Cemetery. with Lynchburg Funeral Home in charge. She is survived by her nephew, Bev, R. Laws, and his wife Katie; their children. Lauranne Humphreys and husband Bill. Charles and wife Joni, Rhea and wife Debbi. Jane Wood and husband Don. and Kathy Leigh; and eight grand-nephews and nieces. She was also close to her husband's nieces and nephews: Dudley and Ann Tipps. Francis and June Tucker, and her brother-in-law, Doug Tipps and his wife Nancy.

Laws Wilbur Francis (Wib) Laws was born July 2, 1915 at the Starr Ranch in Juab County, Utah, the fourth of wight children born to Mary Francis Peterson and Wilford Derby Laws. He passed away February 18, 1987 at the San Juan Hospital in Monticello, Utah after a lingering illness. The family moved to Blanding, Utah when Wib was 10 months old. He graduated from high school in 1935, the end of his formal education. However, he wasn't unlearned and he never forgot anything he read or heard. He will be remembered always by his family as a great teacher and a marvelous storyteller. All of his grandchildren can sing one of his little songs, or recite one of his poems. Wib's first paying job was herding sheep when he was 13 years old. After that, he worked each summer and attended school during the winter. When he was 15, he talked his father into homesteading some farm land for him and worked all summer to get the money for the filing fee. The farm became his when he was age 17 and he then spent years clearing it. He loved the land and always found great peace there. On August 12, 1939, Wib and Wanda Hurst Palmer were married. She was a widow with two young boys. To this union were born eight children. Wib was a hard worker and provided well for his family. He punched cows, trapped for the government, mined, worked in a sawmill and an uranium mill, and worked for both the state and county road department. He also drove school bus and the senior citizen bus, worked as an extra in movies, and cut and sold cedar posts, Christmas trees, and firewood. He loved to garden and always raised more than his family would use and he shared the bounty of his garden with his many friends. He was active in civic affairs and among other things, served as a board member for the ASCS, the water conservancy district, San Juan County Farm Bureau, FHA, the Weed Control Program, and the Blanding Irrigation Company. He spent his life in devoted service to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He completed three fulltime two year stake missions, mistly among the American Indian people. He served in the Indian Branch for three years, in the shadow leadership teaching program in the Southwest Indian Mission for over three years, and was branch president for one and a half years at Denetsosie. he served in every auxiliary and quorum including assignments as high priest group leader and stake high councilman. The highlight of his service to the church was as a fulltime missionary with his wife in the Colorado, Denver Mission. Wib is survived by his wife of 48 years; 10 children, Retta Ann Hall of Salt Lake City, Carolyn Clark of Grantsville, UT, Jean Pehrson of Monticello, Curtis Albert Palmer, James (Jim) Earl Palmer, Mary Kay Crawford, Melvin (Mel) Keith, Sandra Jackson, Lynn Francis and Kelly G., all of Blanding; 43 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Donna Hemingway of Salt Lake City and June Hawkins of Monticello. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, two brothers and five grandsons. Funeral services were held February 21, 1987 at the Blanding LDS Stake Center with Bishop Rayburn Jack presiding. Interment was in Blanding City Cemetery.

According to the following, Jefferson LAW and family had moved away from Marshall Co., Alabama some time between 1850 and 1853. According to the census records the family appears to have moved back by 1860 or they never left in the first place and the court was mistaken. March 28, 1853. Jefferson Law lately died intestate in this county. It is shown to the satisfaction of this Court he was not an inhabitant of this state, but died Feb. 22, 1853, leaving assets in this county. Neither the widow or next of kin are residents of this state, and Henry I. Chandler is appointed his administrator, with Zacheus C. Kennamer and Elias M. Chandler his sureties. On page 17, Feb 20, 1855, Mary Law, widow of Jefferson Law dec'd petitions for division; as the widow she is entitled to one fifth of the estate; Isham Chandler is the administrator. Page 18 is a list of Heirs, viz: Mary Law, widow of Jefferson Law dec'd and Hannah Law, John Law, Robert Law, Marion Law, Nancy Law and Peyton Law, infant children of the deceased. Mrs. Lewis was born Sept. 2, 1904, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the daughter of the late Edgar A. and Harriet Oakley Laws. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed doing crafts. Mrs. Lewis was a member of 1st Church of Christ the Scientist, Queens Village, Long Island, N.Y. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude R. Lewis Jr., in 1989. She is survived by two sons, Robert E. Lewis of Wilmington and John A. Lewis of Quakertown, Pa.; four grandchildren, Eric E. Lewis, Kim Lewis, Jamie Lewis and John Paul Lewis; and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Greenwood Mennonite Church, two miles north of Greenwood on Del. 36. Burial will be private.
