Hi Just to say we are still waiting to help you with your research I am including an off subject poem, which will touch the hearts of all those on the other side of the pond I know this is off subject but feel I those off on the other side of the pond might appreciate it Here's the poem written on the night of 11/12 Sept by my 14 year old daughter Hannah New York City Ghosts will walk in New York City tonight Killed by those afraid to fight Face to face Or walk hand in hand Who crash their planes instead of land Night will come early in New York City >From clouds of dust and ash so gritty Black on white The air now brown >From where the sky came crashing down Many will die in New York City today People will fall to their knees and pray For their loved With hand on heart And hope they'll never be apart Those in New York City they will mourn Against the crumbling towers, sirens, horns Noise on noise So loud it seems Almost like silence reigns supreme There will be a silence in New York City Near where flowers once looked pretty Scorched and burnt The mood so dire It's what happens when you play with fire Those now dead, they didn't do Anything they weren't meant to But those who killed, now there's a thought Though they now lie, scratched and burnt Did they deserve to die as well? >From crashing planes from which they fell Make up your mind and I will mine The truth will out one day, with time And eventually justice will be done To everyone who has done wrong If not tomorrow or today Just wait, there is a price to pay So to New York City, I wish thee well The outcome? ALEXANDER DIES: Funeral services for Mrs. Amanda Alexander, who died at 2 o'clock Sunday morning at the home of her niece, Mrs. Henry H. Reed, three miles northwest of Gridley, were held from the Reed home at 9 o'clock Tuesday morning. Burial was in the Williamsburg cemetery. Mrs. Alexander would have celebrated her 83rd birthday on February 11, 1929. She lived in Williamsburg until about 15 years ago when her husband died and since then she has been making her home with relatives. For the past four years she spent most of the time at the Reed home. Death resulted from general breakdown and the flu. She leaves one son, Joe Alexander of Hall Summit, and one daughter Mrs. Robert Ewings of Maize. (Amanda Laws was the oldest child of James Laws and Mary Ann Lowe Laws.)

Born in Provo, Utah May 19, 1909 to Robert Miles Boardman and Sara Frances McKinney. She married Reed LeRoy Weight on October 21, 1932 in the Salt Lake Temple. He was killed in 1934 in a "Dream Mine" accident five months after the birth of their son, Jay Reed Weight. Married Marvin Richards Laws on May 30, 1947. Marvin was a widower with 6 children and she lovingly took on the job of being their mother also. Elna and Marvin later had two more children together. Marvin preceded her in death in 1976. An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in the church Scouting programs for many years. She was known for her warm and welcoming heart, artistic quilts and wonderful food. She provided charity through Relief Society, The American Red Cross, Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and as a Grandmother at Franklin School and the State Mental Hospital. She taught so many so much. Survived by 8 of her 9 children, Duane Marvin (JoAnn) Laws, Lamar Richard (Kimberly) Laws, Jay Reed (Brita) Weight, Joan Laws Lindsay See, Joyce Laws (Clifford) Tobler, Jay Ronald (Dianne) Laws, Marva Laws (Jay) Rellis, and Thomas Dean Laws. David Paul (Carol Ann) Laws died in 1978. She leaves behind a large posterity of 56 grandchildren, 148 great-grandchildren and 42 great-great-grandchildren. One sister, Mary Ferguson, also survives her. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 8, 2001, at 2 p.m., in the Berg Drawing Room Chapel, 185 E. Center Street, Provo. Friends may call Friday evening, at the Mortuary from 6-8 p.m., or Saturday, one hour prior to services. Interment, Provo City Cemetery.
