ERICKSON Funeral services for Mrs. Carl V. Erickson, who passed away Sept. 15, 1961 at her home in Mission, Kansas, were held at the Southridge Presbyterian church, of which she was a member. Interment was in the Johnson County Memorial Gardens. Laura Belle, daughter of the late Oscar and Lizzie Laws, was born August 23, 1908. She attended the Lebo schools. She was married to Carl V. Erickson of Manato, Kansas, June 11, 1932 and they were making their home at Mission at the time of death. She is survived by her husband and three children David, Catherine and Laura, all of the home. She is also survived by the following brothers and sisters, James Laws of Hartford, Mrs. Mattie Funk of Emporia, Mrs. Nell Selig of Osage City, Mrs. Kate Nelson of Hartford, Mrs. Rena Rosine of Lebo, Earl Laws of Emporia, Raymond Laws of Lebo, Mrs .Bernice Laws of Kansas City, MO., and Mrs. Josephine Eggleston of Medicine Lodge, Kansas.
Dear all, By means of an introduction for you, I am just starting out on tracing my family tree back hopefully as far as i can get it. I'd love any help, suggestions, tips you can give me since I'm new to this. My great-grandfather was a Cecil Edwin Law who lived in Essex (married Margaret Liddle who eventually lived in Sutton, Surrey), if anyones come across this lot so far I'd love to know, meanwhile I shall continue my search! thanks Helen

Other survivors include two daughters, Julie Laws Stewart and Karla Laws, both of Eudora; a stepdaughter, Vicki Hartpence, Lawrence; two sons, Mark Laws, Ottawa, and Cord Laws, Kansas City, MO.; a stepson David Gantenbein, Wichita; his mother, Alice M. Laws, Eudora; a brother, Earl Laws, Jr., Gretna, LA.; a sister, Betty L. Bowers, Montpelier, VT.; and seven grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Mason in Tn.. They were married about 1867 or so. They were later divorced, as Anderson remarried a Sarah A. Lowe about 1875. I know nothing about this Sally, except that she married my gggrandfather, and I THINK she was the mother of my ggrandmother. The Masons' lived in the Bell Co. Ky. area. Anderson was the son of Robert Mason and Elizabeth LAWS (also). I don't know much about Elizabeth either, except her father was Thomas and her mother was Tabitha ??. He died Oct. 11, 1969. She grew up in the Princeton area and attended Ohio City Grade School. She graduated from Princeton High School in 1927. She then attended Ottawa Business College. She worked at Ottawa Hardware before her marriage, after which she and her husband lived in Ottawa until moving to Princeton in 1932. In 1941 they moved to Williamsburg. She returned to Ottawa in 1970. She was a homemaker and worked as an aide in the laboratory at Ransom Memorial Hospital for several years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Ottawa, was a member of the church's What-S0-Ever Sunday School Class and was active in church circles. Survivors include two daughters, JoAnne Holman, Lee Summit, Mo., and Janie Sellers, 1316 S. Oak; a son, John F. "Jack" Laws, LaCyne, two step-daughters, Naomi Gossett, DeBary, Fla., and Ruth Riley, Nampa, Idaho, 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Wednesday at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, where the family will meet with friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. The family suggests that First United Methodist Church be beneficiary of memorial contrbutions, which may be left in care of the church or funeral home.
