The Rootsweb folks have just announced that the searchable archives are now fully operational. You should be able to search the archives for any name, location, etc. that you desire. Even the old notes which were posted when we were on the Maiser server are there. Feel free to try it out! I just tested the system and it is easy to do and works very well. The URL for the searchable RootsWeb archive is: http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl Please direct any questions or comments to me personally at [email protected] Thanks and enjoy! Sorry i do not know this name . Mine was Roy Law and his twin Jacob craftpad
My great-great grandmother was Catherine Ann Laws. Born somewhere in VA on 1-29-1816, she married Abner Feagans on 4-7-1833, and soon after left to Illinois via Ohio. I know a reasonable amount about their Illinois life, but nothing about her (or Abner's, for that matter) parents, siblings, VA life or OH life. She and Abner had 10 children, but only 4 lived to see adulthood (another died as a teenager). One, Joseph Rufus Feagans, went on to become a famous composer, and another, Manly Feagans, served in the Civil War. Catherine died on 4-12-1876, 5 years after Abner. Any additional information you can provide would be much appreciated. I have been looking online a long time now, and have thus far gotten nowhere (until the discovery of this mail server!). Thanks! Merril Glad to see you finally found the gravesite of William Joel. I know you have been looking for a while. Good to keep in touch with your progress through the list. You have helped me a lot and know you have many others also. Your Cuz, Joyce Law
Merrill, I did not mean to be critical but we all have made mistakes and most of us that commit typos just like to keep the record straight for fear that someone will keep an errant miscue as the gospel truth. T hese dates make much more sense. Susan
SUSAN: On checking my outgoing messages I see where I put down the wrong death for John Law. As I said about two lines later Jesse Law died in 1838. Sorry about that. Jesse's son William Joel, born 1782 and died 1834 in Indiana, I found Joel's grave last month. He is buried in the LAW FAMILY CEMETERY near Deputy Indiana. Any time any one sees a big guff up in my information I like for them to let me know. I DO make mistakes. Guess I am the only one in the family that does that. more later BYE, let me hear more. [email protected]
SUSAN: As per my records John Law Sr was born 22 March, 1722 and died in June 1799 and 70 years ago when I went to school, that would have made him a little over 77 years old when he died. Sorry about that. [email protected]
