Hello; This is just a comment about this GEDCOM which I received this morning. Although I have Family Tree Maker, I piped this into Family Origins and printed out my lines. It came to 15 pages and I am sure that I will be several days typing this into my FTM data base. The GEDCOM was not signed, but I want to thank you. This is something I would like to find the time to do with my DUNCAN & TYLER data. Yes, This is exactly what I want to do, when I get the time. Happily typing LAW/LAWS data!!! Hello to everyone on the list, I thought that I would take a few minutes to introduce myself and outline the area of research with which I am currently involved. I am researching the LAW(E)S family from Norwich, England from the period of about 1730 to 1850. The spelling of the name has been inconsistent in the records and has either been LAWS or LAWES. My 3XGGF was Edward LAWES of Norfolk (c.1757-1843), whereabouts in the county he was from I don't know but I do know that his father was an Edward and that he had a younger sister Maria (1770-?) and a younger brother John Gitten LAWES (1772-1849), Maria and John Gitten's mother was Amy but I don't know whether or not she was also Edward's mother, possibly not owing to the difference in years between Edward's birth and those of his younger siblings. Maria and John Gitten were baptized in Norwich St Giles but Edward was not. Maria married but I don't know to whom, John Gitten LAWES married Frances CARTWRIGHT at St Mary the Virgin, Aldermanbury in the City of London; I am not aware of any offspring. Edward LAWES married Ann FOX at St Peter Permountergate, Norwich in 1793. They had one surviving son Edward who was born in 1794 and died 1833 at sea. Ann died in 1804 and Edward remarried in 1805 to Mary PORTER in Matishall, they had two children, John Porter LAWES (JPL) in 1807 and Anna Maria Caroline in 1811, I know very little about Anna Maria Caroline except that she survived childhood and was known as Caroline. John Porter LAWES married in 1837 to Amelia Juidith WADE at St Michael at Plea, Norwich. They had numerous children, many of whom didn't survive including: Theresa Catherina Maria (b. Norwich 1838 d 1838) Edouardus Laurentius Basillius Ignatius (b. Norwich 1840) Theresa Amelia Lucia (b. Norwich 1841) Eugenia Dionysia Agatha (b Norwich 1843, d 1843) Edouardus Ignatius Laurentius b. Norwich 1844) Claudius Francis Clement (b. Norwich 1847) Ferdiand Alphonsus Linus (b Yarmouth 1850 d 1850) Eugenie Emille Marie Biddulph (b Yarmouth 1856) If the names appear slightly unusual, JPL was an ardent Roman Catholic and, it would seem, a snob to boot. Claudius married Catherine JAKEMAN and they had thirteen children, all born in Croydon. I hope that this is of interest, if anyone knows anything more please let me know. Quentin Fontana

I'm new to the LAWS mailing list. I am particularly searching for information on Anna Marie Law, b. 19 Oct 1856, d. 23 Apr 1918. m. Henry Dagger. Two daughters, Ethel Dagger and Mae Law Dagger. Anna is buried in Newton, Fountain Co., IN. I have been unable to find any further information from family sources about Anna's family. She is my great-grandmother. I am also researching the following families: FURNACE (OH, IN, IL, KA) BUCKLES (VA, OK, IL, IN) BURLINGAME (OH, IN) ASCUE (IN, IL, KA) DAGGER (VA, IN) WASKEY(VA, IN) JOHNSON (IN, Denmark) with many collateral families as well. I'm pretty new at the research. Have found most of my information so far thru family records and the internet. I'm now in the process of converting my computer records to a gedcom format. Hope I have some information to share with others. Pamela Furnace [email protected]
In a message dated 98-02-01 03:45:22 EST, you write: << 1 William LAWS b: Abt. 1695 d: Virginia ... +Elizabeth LITTLEBERRY Father: Mother: >> As I see it we have two wives for the same husband. It would account for the name Littleberry being handed down .What is the source for the marriage of Elizabeth Littleberry to William. With the space in dates of the birth of the twins then Littleberry maybe Elishba died in that span? Thanks for your info. Susan in CT

I tried to write her but the e-mail address bounced. If anyone knows her correct address, or if you read this Carol, please contact me. Jean Suman [email protected]
