    3. Hi gang, Looking for e-mail address or get message to Carolyn Page Law, from a posting she sent, we have same 5th greatgrandfather, Daniel Law born 1762. I found that Daniel married "Birdly Tyree" not "Obeidiance Tyree" and would like to compare sources. I know Marvin Rainey list Obeidiance, but I think the confusion was because they were both called Biddy. They only Obeidiance Tyree I have located (Franklin Co. Marraige Bonds, and book "The Tyree Family Tree" has Obeidance Tyree married Thomas Dilon in 1820. email address: [email protected] Thanks...Lynn

    1. [LAWS-L] Who is William's Father
    2. Hi Vivian, Merril, & Tony, Ken, I've received E-Mail traffic that said William (John Law Sr's father) was Shepard Law from England who was married to Idea Larkins. Have you seen this too, and if so where (source) have you seen it? I also received a piece of E-Mail where someone shows William2 Law from Aberdeen, Scotland and his father was James1 Law; do you have any info on this? If so what source? Would love to clear up confusion.... Thanks Michael W. Law E-Mail: [email protected] COM: (650) 603-9179

    3. Michael, I am patiently watching the rootsweb traffic too for any indication of documentation or a reliable source to indicate that this is our line and our John & William. It certaoinly sounds plausible except for the fact that they settled too far north. I continue to believe that our line was a tidewater family which gradually migrated inland as the farms played out...but I have little proof or convincing evidence. Please copy me on your replies from the others. Tony Wood

    3. Hi, my name is Kenneth William Law, Jr. I've been researching for a number of years now but I only have about 600 names. I've added the last 200 by being on-line the last month! This seems to be a great way to gather info that's hard to find. I'm researching the Law surname. It comes thru John of VA, 1722, then to Jesse Law, VA, then William Joel Law, of IN and KY, Isaac Law, Isaac Jackson Law, Isaac Jackson Law, Jr, of IN, MO, KS, and OK., respectively. I also research Blair, my wife's family name. It's been a lot tougher. Thru census records of AR, 1860 and 1870, I've located here family thru Virgil Marvin Blair, c.1900, from Nathaniel Brazil Blair, 1857 , both of Benton Co., AR. Nathaniel's father was Andrew Blair,c.1814, supposedly born in TN along with all his children. Here I've reached a dead end. I have lots of records of Tennesse, and neither he or one of his children show up in the records. Either he changed his name, or he lied to the Census taker. Any help would be appreciated and I'm always glad to share what I have.

    2. James W. Windsor
    3. Regarding the Law family of Washington Co. Pennsylvania. There was a Law line in that county from an early date. I have an obituary from THE SOMERSET PRESS, of Somerset, Perry Co. Ohio, dated 25 June 1885: "Died at her residence in Clalyton Township, Perry county, Ohio, 18 June 1885, Sarah Johnson. Her maiden name was Law. She was born in Washington Co. Pa., in May 1795, from which it will be seen she lived to the great age of ninety years and one month. She was married to Aaron Johnons in 1812, with whom she lived in great harmonty for sixty-seven years. Since the death of her husband six years ago at the advanced age of eighty-eight years, she continued to reside on the old farm on which they settled when they first came to Ohio in 1836. Out of a very large family but two of her brothers and one of her sisters sruvive; her entire family of ten children, five sons and five daughters seven of whom still live in Perry county, while three have found homes in the west, together with many grandchildren and great grandchildren mourn their loss; but they do not mourn as those that have no hope. Mother Johnson was for many years a member of the Old School Baptist church, ever faithful in life she died in the full assurance of faith and has intered into rest. June 20, 1885, her remains were interred beside those of her husband in Hopewell cemetery two and one-half miles east of Somerset. Rev. Beeman, of New Lexington conducted funeral services." More notes: Sarah Law Johnson was the daughter of Robert Law of Washington Co. Pennsylvania and Perry Co. Ohio. This from the 1850 census Clayton twp. Perry Co. Ohio, p. 422: Samuel Law, 34, b. Penn. farmer Ellen, 26, b. Ohio. William, 3, b. Ohio Thomas I., 1, b. Ohio Robert Law, 80, b. Penn. farmer Though I have not seen the cemetery record, one can assume Robert Law (and possibly wife) is also buried in the above Hopewell cemetery. There was another Law family in Perry Co. Ohio. So far as known the two are not related, though I wonder if both Law families coming from Pennsylvania could have come from a common ancestor. The other Laws in Perry Co. Ohio were the family of John Law (1801-1878). He was b. in Franklin Co. Penn., d. Somerset, Perry Co. Ohio. Married Sarah "Sallie" Windsor, 10 Arpil 1823, in Frederick Co. Virginia. I have sent their descendants to Law digest before, so check archives for "Windsor" and it should resurface. Thanks, Jim Windsor
