    3. Saw your posting about your trip to the Law cemetery. This is the first Law family I've seen in Indiana. Wondering if you have any information about Anna Marie Law, b. about 1865 d. 1918. She married Henry Dagger, had 2 daughters, Ethel and Mae. She is buried in Newtown IN. I have been unable to get information on ther parents or make connection to any Law family so far. Thought the Indiana connection might be a clue. Pam Furnace [email protected]

    3. Hi! Wanda and the "muddy person" !! I had a cousin email me this description of those of us who are true genealogists....I think it fits our fellow muddy person...enjoy! YOU KNOW YOU ARE AN ADDICTED GENEALOGIST........ .....when you hyperventilate at the sight of an old cemetery. .....when you get locked in a library overnight and never seem to notice. .....if you would rather browse in an old cemetery than the mall. .....when you are more interested in what happened in 1698 rather than 1998 .....if you store your clothes under the bed and your closet is carefully stacked with notebooks and journals .....when all of your correspondence begins, "Dear Cousin" .....if you have traced every one of your ancestral lines back to Adam and Eve, have it all fully documented, and still don't want to quit Author unknown Bravo!

    3. Law Rootsweb: This may be of interest to all descended from Wm. JOEL LAW b Va 1782, d 10 Sept 1835 in Jeffersom Co. Indiana. Today i went to the old LAW home place that Joel and his companian Sussanah Bain homesteaded in 1813 before Indiana became a state in 1816. From old Land plats and records I found the home place and from the death records for Jefferson Co, saying it was the NW quarter of Land sectinn 27. Than meant 160 acres. I looked at 159 acres before I found the cemetery. As I was trying to get across an old swamp I got stuck in midstep and fell in that mud that wwas over knee deep. I was lucky, I got out, but never go out like that alone. Think of how some one would have enjoyed seeing me in that mud. It was a bright sunny day and I got pictures of all the stones. Some were broken and all were flat on the ground but I hope they will be good pictures. Beside JOEL and SUSSANAH there was Lewis Bain and Cynthia, Thomas, b29 July 1828, d20 Aug 1828., John b 3 Sept 1824, d 10 Jan 1826 and two Infants. I also went to the VALLEY cemetery and took pictures of Joel,s son Charles L. Law. Noe I have all the mud washed off I am going to bed. [email protected]

Subject: genealogy for the Law family Date: Thu, 23 Apr 1998 10:03:44 -1000 From: Leslie and Brenda <[email protected]> Dear Sir or Madam, I have been helping my son with a genealogy project for school. In doing so, I have come up with some very old information that I don't seem to be able to connect with the more current information. I am researching the Law side of the family. The more current information I have is for Robert Madison Law thought to have died in the 1950's. His parents were Louis M. And Mattie Law. Unknown time of death. I also have a church bulletin dated June 28, 1953 for the Laws Chapel Methodist Church believed to have been in the Fort Worth area. It states that the land was first given by George Law who moved from near Atlanta Georga. In this bulletin are the following name and dates: George Law 1789-1864 Martha Law 1793-1865 Henry Law 1818-1854 Sara Law 1822-1903 George Law 1846- 3/7/1918 Lou Waters Law 10/24/1852 - 2/9/1887 RJ Law 1876-1953 Willie Alice Law If you have any information on these folks or can give me any advice of direction to turn, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank You Brenda Lee

    1. [LAWS-L] Rootsweb Cookbook Fundraiser Project
    2. Wanda Rabb
    3. I am forwarding the following message regarding a Rootsweb Cookbook fundraiser project. Normally, commercial messages are not allowed on the Rootsweb genealogy lists, but an exception is made for this as all the proceeds will be used to support Rootsweb. Without support for Rootsweb, our lists would not exist! _________________________ Due to overwhelming popularity of the cookbook project undertaken recently by the Homespun mailing list -- and in response to scores of requests -- Homespun and the Country-Kitchen are pleased and excited to announce we are now compiling a second volume. It will have all new recipes and differs from the first in that holiday traditions will be included, which may be short essays up to 150 words and applies to any holiday celebrated around the world. Each item will include the submitter's name, city and state of residence. As with our first project, all proceeds will be used to support Rootsweb. Our first edition netted over $4,000 for them. Our goal for the second volume is to reach at least $5,000. With your support, we can achieve this! Recipes and holiday traditions for the book are being solicited through June 19, 1998, on our website at: http://www.geocities.com/NapaValley/7186/form.html Orders may be placed when a recipe is submitted from there, or directly at: http://www.geocities.com/NapaValley/7186/order.html If you do not have Internet access, you may email recipe and tradition submittals to: [email protected] Again, if you do not have Internet access orders only may be emailed to the following address: [email protected] When emailing your submittal or order, please be sure to specify VOLUME 2 RECIPE or VOLUMEN 2 ORDER in the subject line. Books are $10 each, including tax and postage (US$13 for orders to Canada and Australia; pricing for other countries will be determined if orders are received). Payment must be by check or money order and received no later than July 10, 1998 (postdated checks cannot be accepted). We cannot process credit card orders. Payment not received by July 10 will result in an order being cancelled as the publisher requires their money when the order is placed (and the bank will hold out-of-state checks up to two weeks to clear). Checks drawn on US accounts or international money orders must be used. Remittance should be mailed to: "Homespun Cookbook" c/o 2200 Green Acres Dr. Rogers, AR 72758 We anticipate delivery of the cookbook about the end of November. They'll make wonderful Christmas gifts! We sincerely hope you will support this endeavor. Remember, ALL proceeds go to Rootsweb!! Should you have any questions on this project, please contact me. Shirley Homespun & Country-Kitchen list hostess [email protected] PS - If you would like to puchase a copy of our first volume, we have a limited number available. Please contact Sandi ([email protected]) immediately if you want to order. Payment is due within five days of the order being placed. Orders should be delivered by the end of June. - ------------------------------

    3. A big THANK YOU to Carol Palomera! I got the 17-pages of Law family info she promised to send. It was very interesting to read, and I will keep it in my family files. My Martha Elizabeth wasn't in there, however. Maybe some of her relatives are, but until I can find her parents info, she is still one of my "lost lambs" !! Just a quick reminder to everyone on the LAWS network....keep looking for my Martha Elizabeth Laws from Tennessee. She was born May 11, 1868 in New Tazewell, TN...married William (Willie) Fletcher King. We believe her parents were Salem (Silem) Laws and Mary Eubanks. But, we don't know anything about them! Thanks again Carol...and best of hunting to you! Nancy :-)
