I don't know Isaiah's parents or siblings, but the 1870 census shows him to be age 35 and born in GA. I have copied this information in an Outline Descendant Tree below. One of his daughters was named Martha, but it's a fairly common name and may not show any family history. I have not researched Isaiah much, but have found several references to him as a prominent citizen in CoffeeCo AL. I do know that he acted as agent for his sister-in-law Tempy Faircloth (my G-Grandmother) when she sold her land in AL after moving to TX. Below is what I have on his family so far. I have a Mary Laws that married Elijah Cottingham, her father was an Elijah Laws who died in 1814. I believe that Elijah had a son named Joshua Cottingham, who might have been your Joshua's father or uncle? Elijah was the s/o William Laws and Sarah Bevans, d/o Rowland. His father did not leave him any land in 1729, which may mean that he was still a minor. By 1748, Elijah patented LAWS ADDITION in Worcester Co. MD. Elijah d. 1794 and had 7 ch. named in his will. (William, Elijah, Joshua, Mary Cottingham, Martha Givan,[mine], Rachel Coulbourne, and Rhoda Laws). Do we have a link? Read the following on another list I belong to....thought I would share in case Daniel belongs to anyone on here. ANSON Co. NC REGULATORS At the Battle of Alamance on 16 May 1771, the militia under the command of Royal Governor William Tryon defeated approximately 2,000 Regulators. It may never be possible to identify all of the Regulators. Many have been lost to history. Of the six who were hanged at Hillsborough after the battle, the names of two are no longer known. Among those listed are: Daniel LAWS 1769 signed Regulator petition

I have a suggestion for all of you. I am updating my web page and got the idea of adding a links section to each of my surname groups. For example on my new Laws Family page I would put links to other web pages with the Laws surname if they would be willing to do the same. Hopefully someone with information one of us needs will eventually be linked to the correct page they are looking for. Sounds reasonable to me, let me know. My page is at http://members.aol.com/engineerbl/familytree anyone interested please email me. Thanks Brian Laws Currently looking for Joseph Laws b. abt 1860-69 Lived in Cincinnati, OH 1885.
