    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/DAw.2ACIB/1818.1.1 Message Board Post: I believe I've found your Thomas Lawrence in the 1860 census. He was 31 yrs. old, wife named Dolly A., son named Thomas H.,daughter named Amanda. As Listed: 1860 Kentucky, Clark Co., Winchester Post Office Image 355 Roll M653_362 page 56 last line on the census page shows 40. Thomas Lawrence 31 M Farm labor next page #57 image 356 same roll # 1. Dolly A. Lawrence 28 F 2. James B. ----------- 8 M 3. Sarah T.(?)---------- 6 F (initial unclear to me) 4. Barbary A. ---------- 11 F. 5. Amanda E. ---------- 3 F (This would be the "Mandy" of 1880) 6. Thomas H. ---------- 1. M (and this is the Thomas H. son 22 yrs old in 1880) 7. Frances Lawrence 70 F. (This must be the mother of Thomas.) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1870 Ky. Clark, Winchester Post Office, Precinct #5 Image 189 Roll: M593_456 Beginning with line 4, 2nd family interviewed, 2nd house visited 4. Lawrence, Thomas B. 41 MW Farming Kentucky 5. --------------, Dolley A. 36 FW Keeping House Kentucky 6. --------------, James B. 17 MW farm labor Kentucky 7. --------------, Sarah T or F 15 FW at home Kentucky 8. --------------, Barbary A. 14 FW at home Kentucky 9. --------------, Manda E. 12 FW at home Kentucky 10.-------------, Thomas H. 10 MW works on farm Kentucky 11.-------------, Allis D. 5 FW Kentucky 12. (looks like) Matthis 1 FW Kentucky 13. Jones , Sarah 26FW domestic Servant Kentucky 14. Lawrence, Frances 82 FW Kentucky This is the same family of the 1860 census for Clark Co. Kentucky. I believe it is the one you seek for several reasons. The names of the children, the ages, the area of Blue Ball, and it's just not likely to get that many variants alike unless it's the same family. The head of household in 1860 is listed as Thomas. In 1870, it's Thomas B. and I know you stated Thomas H. but is that Thomas H. the son, or is the father supposed to be Thomas H.? Bare in mind that not all census information is absolutely 100% correct. There can be errors and while you have an H. it could be a B - or vice versa. I'm sure this is your family that you're looking for! At any rate, it's the best match I could find and I hope it works for you. I wish it was this easy to find my missing Lawrence Best of luck!
