A while back, someone mentioned a hoax regarding an inheritance of the Lawrences of Ashton Hall, Lancashire. It has occurred to me that I did hear of a family tradition that my great-grandfather returned to England for an inheritance. He is supposed to have died while there and never returned to the US. I would appreciate it if someone could post the timeline of this hoax so I can see if it fits the time my great-grandfather went back to England. My grandfather, Charles Joseph Lawrence was born in 1879 so it would have to be after that. Jane Carver
