Lawrence, 45, 0f Wilmington, died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2001, at the Uihlein Mercy Center in Lake Placid, due to the results of a motor-vehicle accident in 1976. He was born in Keene Valley, March 25, 1955, the son of Morland and Emma (Anderson) Lawrence. He graduated from Lake Placid High School in 1974. Larry was a volunteer firefighter for the Wilmington Fire and Rescue Service, and was awarded the position of honorary firefighter in 1977. He is survived by the following sisters and brothers: Judy Winch, Bobby Joe Lawrence and Royce Lawrence, all of Wilmington; Linda Lawrence of S.C. and Theresa "Annie" Lawrence-Jones of N.D.; three nephews, Jody and Todd Winch, and William Baltz; three nieces, Darcy Winch, Kara Jones and Kasey Lawrence; several aunts, uncles and cousins. His parents predeceased him. Visitation hours will be Wednesday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Zaumetzer-Sprague Funeral Home in AuSable Forks. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home and burial will be at a later date in Pleasantview Cemetery in Wilmington.
