Over the years I have either written or submitted information on my LAWRENCE family genealogy and some of this information may reflect an old email address that has not been used for a year or so. James Sr. claimed to have been a Silversmith as stated in his will on August 13, 1801 in Mercer County, Kentucky and he died March 5, 1802 in Danville, Kentucky. Unfortunately I have yet to find proof of the early immigration of our Lawrences when they arrived in America and how they migrated to Augusta County, Virginia in the 1750s. Bill, have you checked out the Lawrence One Name Study page at http://lawrence-ons.org<http://lawrence-ons.org/> ? On it you can see ancestry of Lawrence participants in the Lawrence DNA project, or if you are interested, participate in the DNA project yourself. The DNA testing will show DNA matches of the various Lawrence lines, and if there is a match, you can know if your branch of the family is closely related to any other branch, and thus shares a common ancestor. My own line is from Henry Lawrence, b. 1725 Louisa Co., VA, through his son Thomas Lawrence, who settled in Logan Co., KY around 1800, and his son Henry G.
