I did a quick look for Fred and Bertha in the 1900 census. I located Bertha, but couldn't find Fred with this quick look. So, in case you don't have Bertha in the 1900 census, she is listed in Brookdale Township, Rush County, Kansas, Supervisor's District 7, Enumeration District 238, page 4B. She is listed as Bertha M. and her birth date is shown as May 1890 which is slightly different. Let me know if you want the image and I will send it.
