I am trying to find the parents of Richard Lawrence who was born in New York circa 1807. He married Lucina Fassett in Jackson County Michigan on 21 June 1836 at Jacksonburg. Richard Lawrence died on 8 April 1865, most likely in Sandstone Township of Jackson County, Michigan. He is buried in what is called the Chapel Cemetery which is located in Section 33 of Sandstone Township. Following Richard's death, his widow Lucina moved to Illinois. This move occurred some time between 1865 and 1870. She lived in Carroll County Illinois in 1870. She married John Meakins in Whiteside County on 15 March 1876. Mae Baker d. 4 June 1941 My ancestor was Alvin Billings Lawrence. He and some brothers and in laws went to the Dakota Territory where they homesteaded.
