My GrGr Grandfather was a PETER E Lawrence born in 1827 in Sumter Co SC. He came to Early Co, GA between 1850-1860. Served in CSA. Sometime between 1860-1865 he married my GRGr Grandmother, Axianne Elvina MILLS. She died in childebirth and in 1879 he married a 2nd time to a Molly Calhoun. Don't know when or where he died. John W. (Walter) Lawrence was born in Alabama in about 1877. They both lived in Arkansas in the late 1800"s. John W. followed his son (my father, Roy) to Oklahoma in the 1920's or 30's. He died in Perkins, Ok in 1942. William died in Arkansas in Independence County, and is buried there at Convenience Cemetery. My great grandfather, James Patterson Lawrence, was born circa 1839 in Muscovia GA. He served in the Civil War and died 1923 in Tazewell Co VA. His origins have eluded hired professional genealogists for many years; but, supposedly, his parents were Abel Lawrence bc 1830 and Elizabeth Unknown.
