He would never speak of his parents or his origin. The female names Harriet and Betty are repeated in our family. Would you share your Lawrence lineage with me (herasnick@comcast.net)? Thanks! ______________________________ X-Message: #3 Date: 31 Jul 2006 20:24:24 -0600 From: tipperboo12@msn.com To: LAWRENCE-L@rootsweb.com Message-ID: <MB037VVJzKr4XThmbqo0000891f@MB03.myfamilysouth.com> Subject: Re: Lawrence Family Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. The name was originally Lorentz, Jacob Lorentz. There are different spellings for that name. Sometimes my dad wrote Lorence. I am thoroughly confused by it. My dad immigrated to USA around 1915 from Poland. His first name is confusing to. I know that Walter is the English translation for Valentine. My dad used to get mail from Poland that was addressed to Valentine. I have no relatives here in Pittsburgh from my dads side. I had numerous sites with a lot of info on them about the Civil War, but my grandson eliminated them trying to fix my stupid computer. I will keep you in mind though. I don't have much info but let me know if you want anything. Meantime, I will try to import my favorites. ______________________________ X-Message: #4 Date: 31 Jul 2006 21:03:52 -0600 From: herasnick@comcast.net To: LAWRENCE-L@rootsweb.com Message-ID: <MB04Rqf69aZbLAX3cf3000085f9@MB04.myfamilysouth.com> Subject: Re: Lawrence Family Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. We have great grandfather's military tenure well-documented, but have absolutely nothing about his parents or origin.
