Lawrence, 87, formerly of Wilmington, died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2002, at the Evergreen Valley Nursing Home, Plattsburgh, where she had been a resident since April 22, 2002. She was born May 3, 1915, in Vermontville, the daughter of Merton and Myrtle (Keith) Skeels. She enjoyed taking care of children, crocheting and knitting and going to church. Myrtle was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Grace and George Bushey of AuSable Forks; three sons and daughters in law, Earl and Cathy Lawrence of Peru, Duane and Miriam Lawrence of Vermontville, Almon and Virginia Lawrence of AuSable Forks; and a total of 100 living decedents. Her husband, Earl Lawrence, whom she married Aug. 4, 1934, died May 5, 1985; and a daughter and a son-in-law, Alice and Carl Gallo died before her. Calling hours will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Zaumetzer - Sprague Funeral Home in AuSable Forks. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St James Episcopal Church in AuSable Forks. Burial win be in the family plot at the Haselton Cemetery, Wilmington. Following the burial, a reception for family and friends will be held at St. James Parish Hall, AuSable Forks. Memorials to her may be made to Saint James Episcopal Church Memorial Fund.
