Lawrence than what I previously listed. Originally he was a tailor in Oxford Depot and owned a small farm. When ready-made cloths became available he became a full time farmer and a part time inn keeper during the summer. He was an expert on horses and was related by marriage to the Colfax family. I would love to see copies of the letters you found to see if I can identify any of the individuals named in them. Would this be possible? Ed
