Is anyone working on Lawrence in CT and moving to NY? My Silas moved to NY in early 1800's from CT. From what I have found in census and naming of Silas (m. Sara Bows) sons I BELIEVE he is the son of Rossman Lawrence of Middletown, Middlesex, CT. Can anyone help with this? Genealogy is my Hobby, I collect ancestors !

Hello Betty: Can't help you with Silas -- but in your research if you should come across Joseph Lawrence who was born in Rochester , a nd moved to Old Furnace, Hardwick County , Mass. He married Susannah _______and their first child ( I believe) Hammond, born somewhere then they show up in Athol, Mass where Levi, Sarah, John and Nathan were born....eventually they moved to Vermont.
