It is still used for Episcopal services. I have no other info on the ancestry of this Thomas Laurence nor his birth or death dates or places. I have the ancestry of Edward Earle & Eleanor Elsworth. There seem to be quite a few Thomas Lawrences in NYC during this time. Thomas & Eleanor stayed in Manahattan during the British occupation of NYC 1776-81. He may be related to the Tory colonel Lawrence of Staten Island who went to England after the Rev War since that Col. Lawrence married an Earle daughter, a cousin of Eleanor Earle. Richard Clark I have been trying to locate John Lawrence who seems to have similar family naming patters and locations to the families mentioned including Thomas Lawrence. He was married Catherine Kane (Cain) (b. 1752) in Montgomery, Orange County, NY in 1773. He was a farmer and died in Orange/Ulster Counties 1800 -1812. He seems to have been quite literate and is seen several times serving in quasi legal positions. Have you come across a "John Lawrence" who fits into this profile?
