Hi Folks, Greetings from Toronto, Canada. I am seeking to make contact with any relation or researcher of my ancestor, James LAWRENCE (1812 - 1892) yeoman farmer of Idstone Farm in the parish of Ashbury, Berks, as it was then. I would be delighted to correspond and share research information with any relation or researcher of this family. James LAWRENCE married, in Sutton Benger, Wilts, Sarah Jane HULL (1817 - 1906) of that village. James and Sarah had a large farming family, five of whom proved to be quite prolific: 1. Richard LAWRENCE (1839 - 1922) married Sarah Ann GODWIN and farmed in Manor Farm, Inkpen, Berks. 2. William LAWRENCE (1841 - 1912) married Elizabeth CHISMAN and farmed in Pewsey and in Normanton, Wilsford, both in Wilts. 3. James LAWRENCE junior (1842 - 1933) married Martha G. FROGLEY and farmed in Uffington, Berks; in Wanborough, Wilts; at Hill Farm in Hinton Parva, Wilts; and in Stall Pitts Farm in Shrivenham, Berks. 4. Mary Ann LAWRENCE (1849 - 1942) married William R. CHISMAN; they farmed in Chaddleworth, Berks. 5. Thomas Herbert LAWRENCE (1857 - 1948) married Susan Mary HEDGES and they farmed in Ashbury. I have a lot of ancestral detail on the lines of both James and Sarah. At this stage, I am seeking to connect with their descendants or researchers. Peter Ferreira, from Toronto, Canada, born in Salisbury, Wilts.
Hi List, Greetings from Toronto, Canada, I am looking for any researchers or relations of the family of William LAWRENCE (1841 - 1912) and Elizabeth CHISMAN (1844 - 1876). William was a farmer in Sharcott, near Pewsey, Wilts; he later moved south to farm at Normanton, in the parish of Wilsford, Wilts. William and Elizabeth had issue: 1. Amy Chisman LAWRENCE (1870 - 1944), born in Sharcott; Amy married John Turner HUXHAM and they had issue; 2. Ada Bessie Chisman LAWRENCE (1872 - 1946), born in Sharcott; Ada married George SIDFORD and they had issue; and 3. Mabel Dorothy LAWRENCE (1876 - 1950), born in Normanton, in the parish of Wilsford, Wilts; Dorothy married John ROPER and they had issue. I have copious material on the ancestors of both William LAWRENCE and Elizabeth CHISMAN. I am searching for their descendants. I would be delighted to share research material with any researcher or relation of this family. Best wishes. Peter Ferreira, from Toronto, Canada, born in Salisbury, Wilts.

Lawrence, who may also been known as Liz, Lizzy, or Eliza. Anna, we believe, was unmarried, while Jane was married and had children. We're quite certain they moved to Eugene (or vicinity), probably from New York. We do know that both sisters visited their Lawrence relatives in Sharon, Massachusetts in the 1920-1930 time frame - apparently more than once. They had a brother, Herbert, of whom we know a fair amount (as he was our direct ancestor). Any info would be greatly appreciated. Nick

According to my copy of the Index of Revolutionary War Pension Applications in the National Archives published by the National Genealogical Society in 1976 as a Bicentennial project, the pension for Josiah Lawrence of Vermont was applied for by his widow Huldah. She also applied for a Bounty Land Warrent (application # B.L.Wt. 19520-160-55). This Richard Lawrence, who was, in fact, born in Hilmarton, Wilts, is on my tree. Richard appeared, in the 1851 census, as a police constable in Wroughton, Wilts, with his family. I have copious information on his ancestors and laterals. I would like to share family tree research notes. Best wishes. Peter Ferreira. Toronto, Canada.

Philippa posted her interests in this clan in Genes Re-United. James Lawrence was the son of William Lawrence, farmer, of Hilmarton, Wilts (1767 - 1834) and of Mary Wilkins (1777 - 1847), his wife. He had three further generations of ancestors in the parish of Hilmarton, Wilts. James Lawrence was my great great grand-father. Best wishes. Peter Ferreira Toronto, Canada.
