Alvah / Alva LAWRENCE was born 1803 in Rutland, Vermont, the son of Simon LAWRENCE and Hannah WILCOX. He married Saloma (Sally) GREEN / GREENE. She was born 1813, probably in Pittsfield, Berkshire County, Massachusetts. The family settled in Ellington, Chautauqua County, NY. Both Alvah and Saloma died in 1879 in Ellington. Alvah LAWRENCE and Saloma GREEN had 13 children, only 12 that I can name: 1) Hellena / Helena LAWRENCE (b. about 1834) 2) Alvah LAWRENCE (b. 1835, d. 1877) m. Harriett / Harriet _____ 3) Martin LAWRENCE (b. about 1838) 4) Saloma LAWRENCE (b. about 1840) m. Joseph BATES 5) George LAWRENCE (b. about 1842) 6) John LAWRENCE (b. about 1844) 7) Hiram LAWRENCE (b. about 1846) m. Mirone? _____ (children Daisey / Daisy and Eva) 8) Francis (Frank) Z. LAWRENCE (b. 1851, d. 1925) m. AR census listing is as follows: George Lawrence, age 49, b. MO; wife Minnie; and children Josie-18 yrs, Barry-12 yrs, and Alfred-9 yrs.
