I have just received the results of my DNA Y Chromosome test from Family Tree DNA and would like to share them with the list. Mine is the first of 6 Lawrence surnamed males to take part in this project so far. The first of it's kind for the surname Lawrence. My DNA didn't match anyone else in FTDNA's database but 9 of my first 12 markers did match in the WWW.YSTR.org internet site for someone in Germany. I'm posting my results here for future reference so that others can possibly match or compare mine against their own. I'm also again inviting any and all males named Lawrence to join in our project and possibly learn more about their families and where they originated. This is the project that will sort out who is who in America named Lawrence. We presently have 2 who originated in England and 3 from Germany while one is undetermined. The cost is $101. for the 12 marker (allele) test, and $171. for the 25 marker test, including shipping for both, when ordered through our Surname Study. A $50. and $40. reduction from their regular prices. If interested please email me and I'll have a sample kit sent to your home within 4 working days. Here are my results: > LOCUSDYS#ALLELES > 1 393 14 > 2 390 23 > 3 19 15 > 4 391 10 > 5 385a 13 > 6 385b 15 > 7 426 11 > 8 388 13 > 9 439 11 > 10 389-1 14 > 11 392 12 > 12 389-2 32 > 13 458 14 > 14 459a 8 > 15 459b 9 > 16 455 11 > 17 454 11 > 18 447 25 > 19 437 14 > 20 448 20 > 21 449 27 > 22 464a 15 > 23 464b 15 > 24 464c 16 > 25 464d 16 > James H. I will need some dates and locations before I can say which John you are referring to. I have several JOHN Lawrences in my file, but no middle initial. If you have the place of death, you can check with the county clerk of that county for any other information you need. They do need a date of death and location. Answer direct with your name. We may have a connection. Henry H. Lawrence

Her writing is difficult as she uses very fancy letters to begin many words. The postmark on front of letter is pretty much illegible...on the back is another stamp "rec'd Lisbon, Ohio Oct 4, 1909". (perhaps that's how letter was routed?) On the letter she has written ?arlington V or Pa. She speaks of her brother and sister and their ages. My mother would have been 17 at the time, so am going to assume that Leona was abt. same age. The context of the letter is somewhat like a "pen pal" letter. If this is your family, please contact me. Hello Florence, I am sure we will find him but it just takes time. I am originally from Mass, but I have never heard of the town Old Furnance. I am assumming that it was in the Athol area. Will check it more thoroughly. Will let you know what I find. Have a Good One Bev
Hello Bev I have searched, and searched, for Susannah for longer than I care to remember - with no luck whatsoever. Of course, living in Stratford, Ontario ( central Ontario) I have little access to records. Prior to Athol, Joseph & family lived at Old Furnace - and I have all the Lawrence family...... I will be most grateful if you can find her.
