From: July 26, 1928 Winn Parish Enterprise Eugene Ford Dies Suddenly Mr. Eugene Ford, vice-president and general manager of the Tremont & Gulf Railroad, died very suddenly at Wabbaseka, Ark., Friday night at 11:30. He was stricken with heart failure and died within an hour. He was about 40 years old, is survived by his wife, once daughter, Elizabeth Ford Taylor and one son, Eugene, Jr. He also leaves his father, A. H. Ford and one brother, Claude Ford, of Portland, Oregon. Mr. Ford was a member of the M. E. Church, of South Groveton, Texas, and a member of Shreveport Consistory No. 2, El Karubah Temple Shrine, and held membership in the Blue Lodge, Royal Arch Chapter and Bethlehem Commandery Knights Templar, of Winnfield. For the past four years he had lived in Groveton, Lufkin, & Northern Railway and Trinity County Lumber Co., both Joyce interests. Funeral services were held in Groveton, Monday at 3:30 p.m. His passing is mourned by a host of friends in all parts of the south and west. Mr. Ford and his family are former residents of Winnfield, where they have numerous friends, the following attending the last rites in Groveton, Monday: Pat Tugwell, Ovey Trahan, Albert Smith, Wirt Parker, E. L. Henderson, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Gassiott and daughter, Josie, E. S. Cole and wife, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Crippen and daughter, J. B. Dowdelle, Ray Eagles, D. L. Page, W. N. Anderson, Hampton and Clyde DeLoach, Charles Davis, Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Bryan and daughter, and Mrs. A. B. Jarnagin. --------------AD78F7E7553700C4A4450917--
