From: November 15, 1951 Winn Parish Enterprise Former Pastor Buried Thursday Funeral services are being held today (Thursday) at 2:30 p.m. for Rev. J. H. Keys, brother of Ben Keys of Winnfield, and former pastor of several rural Baptist churches. Rev. Keys died at his home near Winnsboro Tuesday of a heart attack. Last rites will be in Lone Pine Baptist Church, of which he was pastor at the time of his death. Rev. Howard Hammond, assisted by Rev. C. H. Wroten, will be in charge. Burial will be in Ogden Cemetery near Liddieville, under direction of Catron-Gay Funeral Home of Delhi. Rev. Keyes has been a minister since 1918, preaching mostly in rural communities. His former pastorates include Midway, Sardis, and Atlanta Baptist Churches in Winn; Hodge, Center Point, Penial of West Monroe, Shady Grove, Fort Necessity, Lone Cedar of Liddieville, Coax, Baskin, Hills Ridge, Lamar, Bethan, Newellton, Good Hope of Monroe, Sicily Island, Chase, and Lone Pine Baptist Churches. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Amy Shelton Keys; one daughter, Mrs. E. W. Larson, Rockford, Conn.; three sons, J. F. of Houston, A. L. of Winnsboro, and F. A. of Natchez, Miss.; three brothers, Ben of Winnfield, Howard of California, and Morris of Winnsboro; and 15 grandchildren. Pallbearers, deacons in the Lone Pine Church, are J. L. Scott, W. G.
