Files may be printed or copied for personal use only. From: November 22, 1951 Winn Parish Enterprise Former Resident, Wife, Killed in Airplane Crash Mr. and Mrs. John R. Hayes of Shreveport, former residents of Winnfield, were killed in a crash of their private airplane near Heavener, Okla., on Monday, Nov. 12. Hayes, 46, was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Duke Hayes, who formerly operated a mercantile business in Winnfield. He was a president of Standard Wood Preserving Company of Shreveport. Mrs. Hayes was the former wife of William J. Perkins, who was killed during World War II. They had one son, William, Jr., who survives. Mr. Perkins was a nephew of Mrs. W. W. Allen, Mrs. J. L. Peavy, and Mrs. W. O. Averett of Winnfield. Mr. and Mrs. Allen and Mrs. Peavy attended the double funeral in Shreveport last week. --------------745DBDBF9588262305487ABB--
