Shows Howell, 74, widow of the late Ernest Shows (believe this to be a misprint; should be Ernest Howell), died suddenly last Wednesday, August 12, while visiting her son, George Howell, in Jacksonville, Fla. She had enjoyed watching a television program the evening before and passed away in her sleep. Funeral services were held at the Atlanta Methodist Church at 3 p.m. Monday with Rev. A. W. Townsend of Shreveport officiating. Burial was in the Atlanta Cemetery. Hixson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Deceased was born on May 15, 1876 in Winn Parish and was a resident of Atlanta until 1925. Following her husband's death in that year she moved to Shreveport, where she had resided until recently, when she spent several months in Baton Rouge and then went to Florida to visit her son. Surviving are two sons, Fred of Shreveport and George in Jacksonville; two daughters, Mrs. E. C. Capron, Baton Rouge, and Mrs. H. S. Smith, Nashville, Tenn., two brothers, J. W.
