Payne, 80, of Hudson who died in a Winnfield hospital Feb. 20, after a three week's illness, were held at the New Hope Church Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Virgil Taylor, Rev. Mr. Buchanan, and Rev. J. O. Payne, nephew, officiating. Burial was under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Edwin, Robert, Lewis, and J. B. Payne, Jr., and Lewis and Horace Snow. A native of Winn Parish, Mr. Payne was the sons of the late Dr. I. B. Payne and Sarah Foster Payne. He was a member of the Nazarene Church and was also a charter member of the organization which was established in 1899. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ida Snow Payne; one brother, I. B.
