Holmes, 78, resident of Monroe, died in a Winnfield hospital Friday, April 20, 1951. In ill health for some time, he had been in Winnfield a week with his son, John L. Holmes, employee of the Brown Paper Mill Company. He was a native of Pauline, N. Y. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home in Monroe, with burial in Monhose(?).
