Greetings: Thanks to Mike Drewett and Karen Moss we have monetary contributions toward the new home project. I secured keys to the main building upstairs entrances and we can enter from the east side next to the Winn Parish Library as well as the south side behind the main building. The south entrance stairwell is wider and safer. The east stairwell is more of a fire escape and not too safe. Roy Johnson has donated a desk. Hardy Beaubouef is to get with me regarding some carpenter work. Dorman Guilliams, not a member, but my dear friend and protege at the courthouse, is picking up locks, light fixtures, and some other misc. items today. Also, the sink in what we hope to be part of the larger room when renovated is functionable, so I hope to get us a small bar/shelf/sink area which we will need for tending to refreshments, etc. If we are able to knock down the wall between the large room and the adjoining smaller room, we will have a problem in piecing the carpet back together. I spoke with Mr. Quincy Carter, not a member, and he will see about fixing that up for us, little or no charge. I plan to get us a sign made for the exterior of the building directing all to the second floor, plus signs for the doors to our office and meeting room.
