Bartley, 72 years, 2 months of age, died at his home at Jordan Hill Thursday, February 1. He had been in failing health for some time. Mr. Bartley was born in Paulton, Miss., December 1, 1878, and was reared in Ouachita and Winn Parishes in Louisiana. His parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. John W. Bartley. He served as Justice of the Peace for many years until his death. He was a member of the Eastern Star Masonic Lodge of Winnfield. A devout Christian, he served as deacon and chairman of the deacon board, as well as Sunday School teacher and superintendent of the Sunday School. Funeral services were held at the Big Creek Baptist Church Saturday, February 3, 1951, with Rev. J. A. Cockerham and Rev. Albert Nugent officiating. Interment was in the Jordan Hill Cemetery. The Masonic Lodges of Winnfield and Georgetown presided at the grave. Mr. Bartley is survived by his wife, Mrs. Agnes Smith Bartley; three sons, Homer Bartley of New Orleans, Bryant Bartley of Sikes, and Boman Bartley of Jordan Hill; six daughters, Mrs. Gertie Brieuthaupt, Jena, Mrs. Beulah Speaks, Georgetown, Mrs. Alma Speaks, Tullos, Mrs. Gordia Hammons, Pineville, Mrs. Rhoda Porter, Moultrie, Georgia, and Mrs. Eulah McCloud, Detroit, Mich.; one brother, Robert W.
