First of all the great news. Denton Shell came by today NOT with a $500 check as the historical committee had agreed upon but he did bring a check for $1000 as the committee agreed that this would be more appropriate. Thanks to Denton, Dennis, and the Misses Shell for their aid and understanding. Hardy drove his last nail today as he completed all the carpentry work. A big thanks to him for having donated his time and good work. Believe me, he saved us several hundred bucks and did one fine job. As I left this evening, Scott Zimmerman was wiring in the kitchen area. We are about to get down to the wire, so to speak. One more light fixture, staining and varnishing by the inmates, clean up, and we will be in business. By the way, got us a refrigerator, microwave, and can opener today and some other odds and ends we will need. Once the place is complete and clean, we will get our chairs from the library and hopefully a couple of tables I have scoped out at another location and we should be in business. Blinds for the window and the piece of carpet to "piece" together where the wall came down are ordered. No promises, but with some luck and timing, we might be able to have our first meeting at our new home in April. I hesitate to say for certain as I don't want us to move in until the job is complete. First, it's bad luck and second, we will never finish the job if we hang the first sock. So, there you are. We are on the downstretch and things are looking good. If nothing else, we can take a tour at the April meeting if we are not moved in . Keep those cards and letters coming in and donations as well. We are about to budget on the project. However, we are about through with the major costs. Gregg -- Greggory E. Davies 120 Ted Price Lane Winnfield, LA 71483 [email protected]
