From: January 18, 1951 Winn Parish Enterprise Funeral Of Tom Dean Held At Hurricane Grove Thomas Dean, 65, well known timber expert, employed by the Mansfield Hardwood Lumber Company, died in Lubbock, Texas, January 19, 1951, following an operation. Funeral services were held January 21 at 3 p.m. at the Hurricane Grove Baptist Church near Sikes, with the Rev. C. M. Robinson officiating. Assisting with the services was Rev. Smith, pastor of the Hurricane Grove Church. Burial was under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Mrs. Dean, a native of Winn had lived in the parish practically his entire life, and was a member of a prominent Winn Parish family. He was affiliated with the Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons, Wert Dean, Levelland, Texas, and Stanley Dean, U. S. Navy, stationed in Guam; one daughter, Mrs. Beulah Dean Hancock; four grandchildren; two brothers, Jarrett of Georgetown and A. T.
