Others there in Winn Parish, and particularly the many Gaar descendants, could handle this query much better than I can. I do know that one of the more extensive chartings of Winn Parish families is the book on the Gaar genealogy. I ran across it in the Winnfield public library a few summers ago. It was written many years ago, and then was updated in more recent years to reflect later generations of Gaars. I quickly found my Payne great uncles who married Winn Parish Gaars. The furthest back that I know of is John Adam Garr (b 1856). His son was William Russell Gaar (b 1895). William Russell's son is Loy Gaar who currently lives in Gaar's Mill in Winn Parish, LA.
