July 5 Winnfield, Louisiana, WPGHA quarterly meeting. Business meeting starts at 12:30. Program at 1:00. Speaker: Sue Smith Badeaux of Plaqumine. Sue has a degree in archaeology from LSU. In May she – along with attendees from all over the United States – attended the all-day seminar on cemeteries put on by NSU in Natchitoches, Louisiana. She will talk about what she learned at the seminar, including the proper way to clean and take care of tombstones (And it appears that all genealogists are doing it wrong!) Local members bring refreshments. The book room will be open starting at 9am. The WPGHA meeting rooms are on the 2nd floor above the Health Unit (use back stairs entrance where the small parking lot is located.), The health unit is situated between the Farmer's Market and Winn Parish Public Library on Main Street, two blocks west of the Winn Parish Courthouse, and on the street behind AutoZone on the four-lane. Back issues of the journal will be for sale. The meeting is informal and free to the public.
