Greetings: First of all, on a sad note, Roy Johnson's funeral services will be Monday morning, 10 a.m., Southern Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Garden of Memories. Visitation is Sunday evening from 4:30 p.m. until 9 p.m., and Monday morning from 8 a.m. until services. Regarding todays session of interviews, it went very well and thanks to those volunteers who assisted with the project. We have conducted about 25 interviews total, with about 18 or so being done today. For those of you who have never felt a closeness to the veterans of WWII, who in all fairness, saved the world, once you sit down with one of these great men or women and hear their story, you certainly will be proud to be an American and proud of what they did for us. There has been a very common thread to all these interviews. To a single person, not one of them think they did anything spectacular, and every one of them when thanked for their service to their country, say, "I didn't really do anything. We (not I) simply did what we had to do and what all Americans did." We will continue these mass interviews next Saturday, and as far after that as we need to and can afford to and still make the time line. It is truly an honor and privilege and a project we can all be proud of. I think some future generations will certainly be proud of us for having pulled this off. Today, the several who were there to work, discussed possibly doing a similar project on Korean and Vietnam War veterans. I certainly want to see us do so and I think all of the membership will agree as well. Gregg Davies
