This is an old post and you and other Willis researchers were very generous in helping me get to know a little about William. I especially enjoyed the church minutes. What a picture that gives us of life in the mid-1800s. I grew up without much knowledge of my Willis family. William's son, my great-grandfather, Isaac, died when my grandmother was just a young girl. It makes a fellow proud to know he's descended from a large solid family like the Willises of Winn Parish.
