    3. Just wanted to comment and add a little bit to the Walker article in the new Legacies and Legends. Imagine my surprise when I opened it up and found my line staring back at me. My Walker line goes from Flournoy and Hester Walker to Elizabeth Lucinda Walker and Franklin Benjamin Pepper to Clarence Pepper(s) and Eulola Smith and finally to my Grandfather Homer Peppers. Elizabeth and Franklin are buried in the Old Jordon Cemetery in Catahoula Parish. The headstone dates for Elizabeth Walker and Frank Peppers state: Peppers, Elizabeth Walker 1860-1900; Peppers, Frank 1863-1900. My Grandfather Homer and his brother Frank were the ones who erected the stone. I know for sure they got Franklin's birthdate wrong. According to census records (and I'm remembering this off the top of my head at the moment) Franklin was born two years earlier. He was also a Pepper, not a Peppers. We now have an s on the end of our name thanks to Clarence's sisters who raised him when their parents died within a week of each other of the flu(according to family legend). If anyone hears more on the Walkers, let me know, and Sue, thank you for writing this great article! Other lines of mine that passed through Winn Parish: Floyd, Wilder and Lewis.
