Based on this I would say the name that you want is James W. Brock. As to which area of the parish where they lived, I haven't found out. I looked up James Durham and family on the 1860 census (same census) and they were listed under the Winnfield PO. As you know James Durham didn't live at Winnfield. In the 1860 census of Winn Parish was the following: Alexander Brock, age 46, Male, farmer, born S.C. Matilda C. A. Brock, wife, age 28, Female, born La. She was his second wife. Mary F. Brock, dau., age 15, Female, born Ala. William A.J. Brock, son, age 4, Male, born La. Georgan S. Brock, dau., age 3, Female, born La. Susanah Brock, dau., age 1, Female, born La. His son was also listed in a separate household as: James W. Brock, age 23, Male, Farmer, born Ala. Elizabeth Brock, wife, age 25, Female, born Ala. Pintha M. Brock, dau., age 1, Female, born La. John Hilbun, Father-in-law, age 69, Male, born Ga. If you have a question you can contact me here or at cbdur123@aol.com Courtney B. Durham

    3. Regarding the following, from my guesstimation looking at the censues, which can be misleading, most of the Brock clan lived around Tide which is about mid-way between Atlanta and Packton near what was Albright's Prairie, which is about ten miles south of Winnfield on the Old Alexandria Rd. As the census taker skipped around somewhat, it might appear that the Brocks were scattered, but not necessarily so. There was one in the 1860 census, household headed by a female (can't recall name now), that was consistent with what would today be the Old Joyce area, east of Dugdemona a couple or three miles. Gregg Marian, I got this information back in 1999 from a Brock and a Durham descendant. Based on this I would say the name that you want is James W. Brock.
